R.I.Pea-Guy Help FAQ

Does this mean that the Pea-Guy series is over?
In most ways, yes. The members of Astral Entertainment who created and worked on the series, Garth Thompson, Brian Quarfoth, Jerry Belich, Chad Wagner and Chris Tincher have no plans to make further games in the series. Brian has talked about working on an animated movie feature, however this still is very unlikely. However we've left open the possibility so that anyone who wants to sign a contract can make fan games. Click here for information on creating fan games. Click here to download fan games that people have made. So in the future you may see new Pea-Guy games, they just won't be created by Astral Entertainment.

I played the demo of an unfinished game on R.I.Pea-Guy, when can I expect the full version?
Unfortunately the short answer is, never. As stated above Astral Entertainment has no plans to make further games in the series, and even if we had it's unlikely that all of those demos were going to be made into full games anyway, we just thought you'd appreciate seeing what was in the works at the time we decided to quit. The long answer is, there is some chance of seeing these games finished because their source code was included on R.I.Pea-Guy, and since most licensed fan game creators own R.I.Pea-Guy this means that one of them might finish the game in question.

Does this mean I never get to finally defeat Kan?
Haven't found the hidden menu game yet, now have we?

Is Pea-Guy really dead?
Well, yes and no. Since his series is officially over and this game is titled "R.I.Pea-Guy" with the menu featuring a grave labeled "1996-2005", it's like he's dead. In terms of the storyline he was never killed, so looking at it this way he's still alive. Fan game makers, making games after R.I.Pea-Guy, will most likely still use him as a character, though some may write him being dead into their games, this is up to the individual fan-game creator. Only time will tell if a coherent storyline comes about to define Pea-Guy's future, live or dead.

I noticed that you converted some Pea-Guy games back to the original Pac-Guy style, can I expect to see more of this?
No, those games weren't converted to Pac-Guy, they were originally made the way they appear on R.I.Pea-Guy, then converted to how they appear in Vengeance or Bust because we decided to change the series for legal reasons. While the Pea-Guy series was officially ended with R.I.Pea-Guy, the Pac-Guy series ended long before that and we have said for a long time that we will never make another Pac-Guy game. You can read more about why this is on the Pac Pack website.

How do I access the list of cheat codes?
It's the file "PeaGuyCheatCodes.txt" on the CD, it's just not linked to on the menu. Follow the instructions on the inside of the CD insert to access it.

The following games won't run; Pac-Guy Ultimeneinasenshun and Pacula's Curse 2nd Edition
You need to install a modern version of windows media player. There's one included on the R.I.Pea-Guy CD in the file mpfull.exe. Select "Run" from your start menu then input "D:\mpfull.exe" (where D is the letter of your CD-ROM drive) and click OK.

Which Converted Pac Guy games are going to be on the CD? All of the converted ones please.
Every game that was converted to Pea-Guy from Pac-Guy is on the R.I.Pea-Guy CD, however not every game was converted, and Pacula's Curse was only half converted.

The Quest for Temple Doom (full version and demo) run slowly on my computer.
This may be the fault of a graphics card not being separate, but being built into the motherboard, as many new computers have these days. Short of buying a new graphics card, you can try closing all programs (especially browsers) before running the game. Also make sure that you set speed to "Very Fast" from the "Options" menu.
Also try turning off all unnecessary options from the options menu (music, fps, get ready, etc.). Upgrading your computer's RAM memory may solve this problem on some machines.

On level 3 of the secret menu game, Pea-Guy keeps getting stuck, or the scrolling doesn't work.
On some computers you need to time your jumps just right to keep Pea-Guy from getting stuck in certain places. This is due to the fact that secret games are unfortunately not tested as much as non-secret ones. To solve the problem, play the level as Uncle Patches instead.
